1 cup sugar
½ c. light corn syrup
1/3 cup water
¼ tsp. anise oil
3-4 drops food coloring
Line an 8x8x2 inch pan with foil, extending foil up to sides; butter foil. Butter sides of heavy 1-quart saucepan; add sugar, corn syrup and water, mixing well. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved. Cook over medium heat to 300⁰. Remove from heat and add anise oil and food coloring. Pour into the prepared pan at once. After about 5 minutes, when candy is just beginning to set around the edges, carefully lift foil out of the pan. Cut candy into desired shapes and sizes.
