DEVILS ON HORSEBACK

  • 200g (7oz) Sharwood’s mango chutney (optional)
  • Tabasco (optional)
  • 20 rashers good-quality smoked streaky bacon
  • 20 Agen prunes, pitted

Preheat the grill to high. If using mango chutney and Tabasco, stir 5-10 drops of Tabasco into the chutney. Taste and add more Tabasco if required. 

Lay out the bacon rashers on a board. Spread the chutney mixture (if using) on each rasher, lay a prune on top and wrap the bacon tightly around the prune. Place the devils on a baking tray (or in a roasting tin) as you go.

Place the baking tray on the floor of the grill until the devils are nice and brown on top. Remove the tray, turn them over, baste them and put them back under the grill until the bacon is perfectly caramelized.
