1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
¾ c. chopped green pepper
1 can (16 oz.) chili beans
1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes, cut up
2 tsp. chili powder
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
½ tsp. dried basil, crushed
½ tsp. sugar
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
In a large kettle cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until meat is browned; drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce and seasonings. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
