Pound Cake

1 cup salted butter

1 2/3 cups sugar

5 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs, one at a time, and vanilla.  Blend in flour.  Bake in a loaf pan at 350° for 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes.

*For flavored cakes, substitute your choice of flavoring for the vanilla.
