1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

¼ cup shortening

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Mix and bake in a 9-inch square pan at 350° until cake tests done.
