Sweet Spiced Nuts

1 egg white

1 teaspoon water

2 cups unsalted cashews

2 cups unsalted almonds

½ cup sugar

½ teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Preheat oven to 250°.  Beat the egg white and water until frothy, but not stiff.  Add the cashews and almonds; stir to coat.  Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the nuts.  Stir until the sugar is dissolved.  Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.  Cool on waxed paper.
