1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. canned pumpkin
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Combine butter and sugar, beat in eggs one at a time until smooth. Stir in pumpkin. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Add to egg mixture, stirring until just moistened. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Spread batter into greased 9 X 5 X 3 loaf pan. Bake 350° for 1 hour or until bread tests done. Cool in pan 10 minutes then turn loaf onto to rack to cool.
