Cinnamon Raisin Bread

1 large egg

1/4 c. butter melted

2 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1 T. cinnamon

1/2 c. dark brown sugar firmly packed

1 c. buttermilk

2 1/2 c. flour

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 c. sugar

1 c. raisins

Beat the egg with a whisk in a large bowl. Whisk in the buttermilk and butter directly into the liquid mixture. Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon. Blend with a wooden spoon and fold in raisins. Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake 350° for 45 – 55 minutes.
