Candy Cane Bread

2 1/2 c. flour

1 c. sugar

3 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 c. shortening

1 1/4 c. buttermilk

2 eggs

1 cup candy cane powder

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda. Add shortening, buttermilk and eggs; mix. Fold in candy cane powder.  Bake in a greased 1 large or 2 small loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes for small pans and 40-50 minutes for large pan.
